City of Dubuque Independence Day Holiday Service Changes

City of Dubuque offices will be closed on Thursday, July 4, for the Independence Day holiday. This includes City Hall and most other City facilities.

There will be no trash, yard debris, recycling, or large item pick-up collections on Independence Day. Those Thursday collections will instead be made on the following Saturday, July 6. All Dubuque Metropolitan Area Solid Waste Agency facilities will also be closed.

Both Flora and Sutton Pools will operate on reduced schedules on Wednesday, July 3, and Thursday, July 4.

Flora Pool:

• Wednesday, July 3:
  • Open 7:00 – 8:30 a.m. and 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. for adult swim.
  • Open 1:00 – 4:30 p.m. for open swim.
  • No evening swim lessons. 
• Thursday, July 4:
  • Open 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. for adult swim.
  • Open 1:00 – 4:30 p.m. for open swim.
  • No swimming lessons.

Sutton Pool:

• Wednesday, July 3:
  • Open 7:00 – 8:30 a.m. and 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. for adult swim only.
  • No evening open swim.
• Thursday, July 4:
  • Open 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. for adult swim.
  • Open 1:00 – 4:30 p.m. for open swim.
  • No evening open swim.
  • No swimming lessons.

The Leisure Services Department's playground programs will end at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 3rd and will not resume until Friday, July 5.

The Carnegie-Stout Public Library will close at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 3, and remain closed on Thursday, July 4.

Bunker Hill Golf Course will be open and hosting special events during the week of Independence Day; please call 563-589-4261 for details.

The Jule will not operate on Independence Day and the Intermodal Transportation Center will be closed. Parking meter expiration violations will not be enforced on the holiday.
