Miller Riverview Park and Campground to Remain CLOSED Through Independence Day Holiday
JUNE 20, 2024
The City of Dubuque Leisure Services Department has announced that Miller Riverview Park and Campground will remain CLOSED to campers and pedestrians until further notice due to high Mississippi River levels. The closure will remain in place until after the Independence Day holiday. Pedestrians will NOT be able to access the park and campground to view the July 3 airshow and fireworks.
Floodwaters are currently covering the entire western side of the campground. Access to the northern portion of the campground is also being limited by floodwaters coming over Riverview Park Rd. Mississippi River levels are expected to begin rising again Friday afternoon, with an unknown crest date, according to the forecast from the National Weather Service.
Refunds are being issued to campers who made reservations prior to the campground’s closure on May 26. Refunds will continue to be issued until the campground re-opens. The online camping reservation system will not accept any new reservations until the campground re-opens.
