Sutton Pool Closed Remainder of Wednesday, June 5

BAD NEWS: 

Due to visibility concerns created by cloudy water, Sutton Pool will be closed the remainder of today and this evening, June 5. Safety is the City's top priority in operating its pools and we must close the pool when visibility issues prevent staff from safely monitoring the water.

GOOD NEWS: 

The issue causing cloudy water is not harmful and staff can address the issue today so the pool will be open tomorrow.

DETAILS: 

The issue creating cloudy water is the same as last year: tiny paint particles too small to be caught on the pools' filtration system. (Although the issue has created visibility concerns, the water itself is safe.) A non-toxic treatment will be used to address the issue and staff need today to conduct this treatment at Sutton.  This treatment is expected to resolve the issue.
