City of Dubuque Offers Free Downtown Parking During Thanksgiving Weekend

The City of Dubuque is providing free parking at metered spaces and City-owned ramps and lots in the downtown area beginning on Thanksgiving (Thursday, Nov. 23) through Sunday, Nov. 26. 

The free downtown parking over the holiday weekend is meant to encourage Dubuque residents and visitors to shop at local downtown businesses. Thanksgiving weekend includes two major holiday shopping days, Black Friday and Small Business Saturday, that are critical to the yearly success of retailers in the Dubuque community. 

“As Black Friday and Small Business Saturday mark the official beginning of the holiday shopping season, we want to do our part to help support local businesses by allowing customers to utilize downtown area parking for free,” says City of Dubuque Director of Transportation Services Ryan Knuckey. “This is such a vital time of year for many of our Dubuque retailers and we hope shoppers take the opportunity to keep their dollars in our local community.”
