Dubuque, IA - One additional person has been arrested today in connection with the February 7th, 2023 shooting death of 31-year-old Lonnie E. Burns of Dubuque. 28-year-old Terry J. Valrie of Dubuque, IA was arrested earlier today by the US Marshals Service in Rock Island County, IL. Valrie has been charged with 1st-degree murder and 1st-degree robbery. A total of five persons have now been charged in relation to this incident. This investigation is still ongoing, and additional charges are possible.
Murder in the first degree is a class “A” felony punishable by life in prison. Robbery in the first degree is a class “B” felony punishable by no more than 50 years in prison.
As with any criminal case, the charges filed are allegations and any suspects are presumed innocent until convicted in a court of law.
