City of Dubuque To Open Flora and Sutton Pools This Summer

The City of Dubuque Leisure Services Department announced today it will open both Flora and Sutton pools for the 2023 season! Opening day at both pools is tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, May 30, depending on weather.
Swim passes will become available and registration for swim lessons at Flora and Sutton pools will begin at 9 a.m. on Friday, April 28. Aquatots class will be offered for children 1 – 3 years of age accompanied in the water by a guardian who is age 14 or older. Group swim lessons for ages 3 and older will be held in two-week sessions starting June 12 through Aug. 3. Private swim lessons and adapted swim lessons for individuals with physical and cognitive disabilities will also be available.
Swim pass information and the 2023 swim lessons schedule and registration options will be published online in the Leisure Services Let’s Go! Summer Activities Guide on Friday, April 21. WebTrac is the Leisure Services online registration system for swim lessons, swim passes, recreation programs, and more. Leisure Services Family Scholarship funds may be used to purchase swim lessons and swim passes when they become available. The Family Scholarship is a $125 household credit for income-quali?ed families (two or more related people from the same address). In addition to swim passes, scholarship credits can be used for program registration, pavilion rentals, and other services. In addition, those who qualify for a Leisure Services Family Scholarship automatically qualify for a Creative Adventure Lab Scholarship which includes a complimentary one-year Family Play Membership. Reservations to rent Flora and Sutton pools will open at 9 a.m. on Monday, April 10. The pools are available for rental on Saturday and Sunday evenings from 5 – 7 p.m. for up to 300 people. The rental fee for Flora Pool is $475 and the rental fee for Sutton Pool is $350. New this year, pool rental reservations can be made online at www.cityofdubuque.org/pools. Reservations can also be made over the phone by calling 563-589-4263 or in-person at the Leisure Services office located at 1157 Central Ave., open Monday – Thursday, 9 a.m. – 6 p.m., and Friday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
The pre-season schedule for both pools will run from Tuesday, May 30, through Friday, June 9, and will be as follows:
Monday – Friday (May 30 – June 9)

12 – 1 p.m. Adult Swim & Water Playground (ages 5 and under)
1 – 4:30 p.m. Open Swim
5 – 6 p.m. Adult Swim

10 a.m. – 1 p.m. Open Swim
1:30 – 4:30 p.m. Open Swim
Regular season hours will begin on Saturday, June 10. In order to provide both evening swim lessons and evening open swim, the evening schedule at each pool will alternate every two weeks. Regular season hours will be as follows:

7 – 8:30 a.m. Adult Swim & Water Playground (ages 5 and under)
12 – 1 p.m. Adult Swim & Water Playground (ages 5 and under)
1 – 4:30 p.m. Open Swim
5 – 8 p.m. See evening swim schedule.
Saturday & Sunday
10 a.m. – 1 p.m. Open Swim
1:30 – 4:30 p.m. Open Swim
5 – 7 p.m. Rentals
