Dubuque Police Investigate Second School Threat

DUBUQUE, Iowa – At 6:45 a.m. the Dubuque 911 Center received another call reporting threats of violence today at Dubuque Hempstead High School.  Police believe this call is related to the report made on Monday morning.  While there is currently nothing to support this new reported threat, there will be an increased police presence at the school throughout the day. Classes will run as scheduled.  The Dubuque Police Department is actively investigating the source of both calls.  


Making a threat of terrorism is a class ā€œDā€ felony in Iowa, punishable by confinement of up to 5 years in prison. Anyone with information about these incidents is encouraged to call the Dubuque Police Department at (563) 589-4410 or they can submit a tip anonymously at https://www.cityofdubuque.org/formcenter/police-department-8/submit-a-tip-43. Additionally, persons utilizing the Crime Stoppers hotline may qualify for a monetary reward by calling (563) 588-0714 with information that leads to an arrest.
