STRUCTURE FIRE IN 400 BLOCK OF LORAS BLVD.
The Dubuque Fire Department was dispatched at 3:53 p.m. today (Tuesday, Jan. 24) to the scene of a three-story, multi-family residence for a fire on the third floor.
The first unit arrived on scene at 3:56 p.m., within three minutes of dispatch. Upon arrival, the initial fire companies deployed a hose line to the third floor. Additional companies arrived on the scene and secured a water supply, conducted a search of all three floors, assisted with extinguishing the fire, and conducted salvage and overhaul of the building.
Fire crews assisted with the evacuation of five occupants from the first and second floors. The fire department was unable to locate any operational smoke detectors in the building. The fire is currently being investigated by the Dubuque Fire Marshal’s Office and is believed to be accidental at this time.
The Dubuque Fire Department was assisted by the Dubuque Police Department and residents were aided by the American Red Cross. There were no injuries to civilians or responders reported.
