The Jule Offering New Routes Free for Commuters
Jan. 5, 2023
The Jule, Dubuque’s public transportation system, will add new routes to its fixed-route services starting Jan. 9.
The City is piloting these new routes in an effort to remove transportation barriers for Dubuque’s workforce, with the routes being free to ride for the first six months of service.
“These routes are specifically designed to meet the needs of commuters in Dubuque. Someone can get on the bus at a stop near their home and be dropped off close to their employer, all within the hour. We’ve worked with major employers in the area to meet the transportation needs of their employees by establishing these routes as a reliable and accessible transportation option,” said City of Dubuque Transportation Services Director Ryan Knuckey.
These new routes run both in the morning and afternoon, making frequent stops in residential neighborhoods and business districts. Riders can view these new routes, find stops along the routes, and plan a trip based on start/stop locations and desired times all within the MyJule mobile app, available in the Google Play and the Apple App Store. Riders can also do so on the City’s website at MyRide.cityofdubuque.org, which additionally allows riders to track the bus in real time.
