Blockage Causes Sanitary Sewer Overflow

DUBUQUE, IOWA – A blocked sanitary sewer line off Stone Hill Dr to overflow untreated wastewater on to the surrounding ground. Lime and signs have been placed in the surrounding area.

The City of Dubuque Public Works Department was notified of the overflow line around 1:00 p.m. Wednesday (August 24). After crews worked to remove the blockage, sanitary sewer pipes were open by 3:00 p.m.  

The Iowa Department of Natural Resources cautions people to keep their children and pets away from the noted area, which is posted, for forty-eight (48) hours.
