Dubuque County Reaches HIGH COVID-19 Community Level

The CDC changed Dubuque County's COVID-19 Community Level to HIGH on Thursday, July 28.  Dubuque County is now one of 18 Iowa counties at this level.

COVID-19 Community Levels are a tool to help communities decide what prevention steps to take based on the latest data. Levels can be low, medium, or high and are determined by looking at hospital beds being used, hospital admissions, and the total number of new COVID-19 cases in an area.

Recommended actions based on this level include:
  • Wear a mask indoors in public and on public transportation.
Loosely woven cloth products provide the least protection, layered finely woven products offer more protection, well-fitting disposable surgical masks and KN95s offer even more protection, and well-fitting NIOSH-approved respirators (including N95s) offer the highest level of protection. • Stay up to date with COVID-19 vaccines.

  • Get tested if you have symptoms.

  • If you are at high risk for severe illness, consider taking additional precautions.
