Largest 1-Week Increase in New Cases Since Feb. 23

The number of new COVID-19 cases continues to trend upward and this week's increase of 166 new cases is the largest for Dubuque County since late February. The CDC again raised Dubuque County's community level from low to medium and the county's transmission level remains at high.

The Dubuque County Public Health Incident Management Team (IMT) continues to encourage residents to stay up-to-date on COVID-19 vaccinations and boosters because doing so is the best way to avoid serious illness, hospitalization, and death from COVID.

Only 29% of 5-11 year olds in Dubuque County are fully vaccinated for COVID-19 so parents are encouraged to get their children vaccinated or discuss concerns with your healthcare provider.

Remember, everyone ages 5 years and older in the U.S. is now eligible for a COVID-19 vaccine booster. Most children ages 5 to 11 years old should get their booster 5 months after they finish their initial vaccination series.
