Summer Teen Empowerment Program (STEP) Supervisor

STEP is a six-week, service-learning based program for teens entering 8th-12th grade focused on developing life skills – with emphasis on community building, teamwork, and social and emotional learning. The Program Pillars taught include Career/Workforce Readiness, Social Justice, Nutrition & Health, Environmental Education and Community Service. Those interested in filling this important mission and vision are invited to apply to the Summer Teen Empowerment Program (STEP) Supervisor position located at the Multicultural Family Center with the City of Dubuque. The STEP Supervisor manages all day-to-day operations; facilitates the achievement of learning outcomes related to financial literacy, workforce readiness and discipline, diversity-equity-inclusion, and communication and teamwork; maintains participant academic and financial records; and supervises AmeriCorps crew leaders. College level coursework from an accredited college or university in Education, Sociology, Social Work, Cross Cultural Studies, Psychology or a related field; experience working with teenagers and a diverse workforce and/or population; or the equivalency of education, training and experience is required. Successful candidates are able to follow an input-oriented management philosophy, value equity, problem solving and the development of partnerships; and have a strong desire to be part of an organization that values service, people, integrity, responsibility, innovation and teamwork.
