Dubuque Receives Distinguished Budget Presentation Award

DUBUQUE, Iowa – The Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) has awarded the City of Dubuque the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for its Fiscal Year (FY) 2022 budget.

The Distinguished Budget Presentation Award is the highest form of recognition in governmental budgeting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its leaders. A Certificate of Recognition for Budget Presentation was given to City of Dubuque Director of Finance and Budget Jennifer Larson to recognize her primary role in preparing the award-winning budget.

In order to receive the award, Dubuque had to satisfy nationally recognized guidelines for effective budget presentation. These guidelines are designed to assess how well an entity's budget serves as:

a policy document
a financial plan
an operations guide
a communications device
