Winter / Spring 2022 Activities Guide Now Available


The City of Dubuque Recreation Division has a variety of programs and activities to keep your family fit and having fun! From toddlers to seniors and karate to 3D art, there is something for everyone to enjoy! Below is a preview of just some of the programs we have planned for January - May 2022. Registration opens Monday, Dec. 27.

Adult Programs


Adult Softball & Volleyball
Registration Begins: Monday, Jan. 31
Gather your friends and/or co-workers to form an adult softball or volleyball team to play in our recreational leagues this summer! Softball begins in April. Volleyball begins in May. League and registration information will be available online by Monday, Jan. 31 at www.cityofdubuque.org/adultathletics. 

Starting Seeds Indoors
Saturday, Apr. 9  |  9 a.m. - 12 p.m.
During this workshop we will discuss lighting, timing, stalk pinching, container sizing, and fertilizer considerations to get the best transplants with the resources you have. Includes a tour of the City of Dubuque Greenhouse and we’ll plant tomato seeds to take home!  > Register

Chair Yoga
January - March 2022

Come stretch your body in the most relaxed way...from your chair! You’ll get a full body strength and stretching workout from head to toe in only 45 minutes! Classes offered January - March on Tuesdays and Fridays. Instructed by Pam Connolly.

Kid Programs


The Little Gym
Wednesday / Friday, Jan. 12 - 28
10 - 11:30 a.m. at Bunker Hill Clubhouse
Age: 18 mo. - 5 yrs. 
We are converting our Bunker Hill Clubhouse into a play gym! We will have a bounce house, ball pits, learning stations, balance beams, mats and more! Parent/caregiver and child class. > Register


Winter Adventures
Monday, Jan. 24 & 31 
10 - 11 a.m. at Allison-Henderson, Upper Level
Age: 18 mo. - 4 yrs.
Come in from the cold and enjoy some winter themed activities. This class will be packed with stories, crafts, and games to celebrate all the great things about winter!  Parent/caregiver and child class. > Register

Metal Art
Thursday, Jan. 20 
6 - 7:30 p.m. at Allison-Henderson Building, Lower Level
Age: 8 - 12 yrs.
Use metals and other metallic mediums to create your own masterpieces! We will explore different metal and metallic mediums and use them to create unique art and decor you can take home. This is a drop-off class. > Register


Weekly Teen Nights
Multicultural Family Center

Weekly Teen Nights
Tuesday, Jan. 11 - June 7
5:30 - 7:30 p.m. at the MFC, 1157 Central Ave.
Age:  13 - 18 yrs. Registration Encouraged
Join us Tuesday evenings for dinner and activities. The MFC is the place for teens to hang out and interact in a safe, fun environment that promotes diversity and empowers youth to reach their potential.

Tae Kwon Do Free
Tuesdays/Thursdays, Jan. 11 - May 26
7 - 8 p.m. at the MFC, 1157 Central Ave.
Age: 7 yrs. and older
Tae Kwon Do is a Korean art of hand and foot fighting. This is a useful way for you to learn the art of self-discipline, mental preparation, concentration, and self-control.

Carnegie-Stout Public Library


The Carnegie-Stout Public Library offers 
an abundance of programs for both youth 
and adults including book clubs, youth storytimes, grab-n-go activities, teen programs, the Maker Space, and more!
