Limited Boat Trailer Parking on Chaplain Schmitt Island on Sunday

DUBUQUE, Iowa – Due to parking needs for the Veterans Memorial Plaza rededication ceremony at 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 30, boat trailer parking on Chaplain Schmitt Island will be limited to the boat ramp parking area only on Sunday, from midnight through 6 p.m.

Use of the parking lots at the Veterans Memorial Plaza, the McAllece Recreation Area ballfields, Mystique Community Ice Center, and the parking area by the skate park are reserved for veterans and other attendees of the rededication ceremony. Violators will be towed.

As an alternative, boaters are encouraged to use the A.Y. McDonald Park boat ramp and parking area or the East Dubuque public boat ramp. Thank you for your cooperation in providing parking for this event.
