DUBUQUE, Iowa – "As the public is aware, both the U.S. House and Senate were in session today to certify the results of the presidential election. Persons clashed with police and smashed through doors leading into the Capitol and beyond."

"Dubuque Police Chief Mark Dalsing and Dubuque County Sheriff Joe Kennedy continue to monitor the situation and maintain open channels of communication with state and federal partner agencies."

"Locally, they report no indications of any threats or issues. Our local law enforcement professionals will remain on alert and citizens can remain confident that public safety remains our top priority."
