Creek Cleanup at the Lower Bee Branch June 1 - 5

DUBUQUE, Iowa – The City of Dubuque Park Division is hosting a creek cleanup at the Lower Bee Branch from June 1 – 5. This is an opportunity for individuals, small groups, and families to spend time outdoors doing meaningful work to help the environment.
Three time intervals are available each day to pick up trash along the banks of the Bee Branch Creek and 16
th St. Detention Basin: 8:30 a.m. – 10 a.m., 10:30 a.m. – noon, and 12:30 p.m. – 2 p.m. Volunteers are asked to meet at the 16
th St. Overlook.
Several precautions will be made to ensure social distancing guidelines are followed during the cleanup. Only one group of 10 people or less is allowed to participate at one time. Park staff will provide cleanup supplies such as bags, plastic gloves, and trash grabbers and remain more than six feet away from volunteers at all times. Volunteers are encouraged to wear a cloth face covering while doing the cleanup.

The creek cleanup is part of the Bee Branch Watershed Beekeepers initiative which promotes watershed health and safety, pollution prevention, responsible behavior, and an appreciation for and a connection to our natural resources.
