Clogged Pipe Causes Sanitary Sewer Overflow

DUBUQUE, Iowa – A clogged sanitary sewer manhole in an off-road area between Patricia Anne Drive and Miller Road has caused untreated wastewater to flow into Catfish Creek.

The City of Dubuque Public Works Department was notified of the overflowing sanitary sewer manhole around 4:30 p.m. yesterday, Monday, March 23. Crews worked to remove the blockage from the manhole, and the flow was directed back into the pipe by 8 p.m.

The Iowa Department of Natural Resources cautions people to keep their children and pets away from the noted area, which is posted, for 48 hours.
