Cable TV Budget & Programmming
We have recently completed some programs that are now airing on CityChannel Dubuque and available on the City’s website. In “Bee Branch Update 2020” Communications Specialist Kristin Hill and Civil Engineer Deron Muehring discuss work completed last year and then look ahead to the work that is being done this year and what’s planned in the next few years. Related to the same project, Kristin also sat down again with archaeologist Leah Rogers to talk about the findings from her archaeological study of the Bee Branch Creek corridor. That program, “Bee Branch Archaeology Revisited” is filled with images of some of the interesting artifacts they found.
You may have seen the snow sculptures in Washington Park if you’ve been downtown in the past couple of weeks. Our cameras recorded the action and talked to the sculptors as they chiseled their way through this year’s event. “Snow Sculpting 2020” is now available for viewing.
On Saturday (February 22), I will present the FY2021 Cable TV budget before the City Council. This hearing airs live on CityChannel Dubuque and will be streamed live on the City’s website. The telecast begins at 9 a.m. and Cable TV is the last presenter of the morning. There will be a total of six meetings in which various departments present their budgets (four between 2/22 and 2/27 & the final two on 3/23 and 3/25). The City Council will adopt the FY2021 budget during a public meeting on Thursday, March 26.
This will be my last budget presentation for the City before my retirement at the end of March. It will also be the final “Cable TV” budget presented. The division is being renamed “Media Services” to more accurately describe what we do.
Thank you for your interest in Cable TV.
