[ARCHIVED] Line Blockage Causes Sanitary Sewer Overflow in Dubuque

DUBUQUE, IOWA – A line blockage caused a Dubuque sanitary sewer to overflow, forcing untreated wastewater to flow out of a sewer manhole in a wooded area near 3109 Arbor Oaks Drive.

DUBUQUE, IOWA – A line blockage caused a Dubuque sanitary sewer to overflow, forcing untreated wastewater to flow out of a sewer manhole in a wooded area near 3109 Arbor Oaks Drive.

The City of Dubuque Public Works Department was notified around 7:30 a.m. this morning of a possible sanitary sewer overflow near 3109 Arbor Oaks Drive. Crews were dispatched to the area and located the overflowing manhole around 8:30 a.m.. They were able to remove the blockage from the line by 1:30 this afternoon. Cleanup of the area continues at this time.

The Iowa Department of Natural Resources cautions people to keep their children and pets away from the noted area, which is posted, for forty-eight (48) hours.
