May 1: 739 New Cases and Eight Deaths in Iowa, Seven More Cases in Dubuque Co.

The Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH) was notified of 739 additional positive cases of COVID-19 in Iowa, including seven additional cases in Dubuque County. Iowa now has a total of 7,885 positive cases and Dubuque County has 109.

Eight additional deaths were reported today for Iowa, bringing the state total to 170.

15 Dubuque County COVID-19 patients are currently hospitalized. Statewide, 345 Iowans are hospitalized

21 Dubuque County residents who tested positive have recovered. Statewide, 2,899 Iowans have recovered.

1,240 Dubuque County residents have been tested to date, with 1,131 of those test results being negative for an 8% positive test rate. 45,593 tests have been conducted statewide with a 17% positive test rate.
The number of positive cases is expected to increase significantly over the as the high volume of tests taken this week are processed.
