July 14: Dubuque County Surpasses 1,000 COVID-19 Cases

Dubuque County now has over 1,000 positive cases of COVID-19 following a recent spike in new cases, with a majority of these cases being younger adults. According to the CDC, a significant portion of people with COVID-19 don’t show symptoms (are “asymptomatic”) and can transmit the virus to others before showing symptoms.

Together with the Dubuque County Public Health Incident Management Team, Dubuque County’s health care organizations strongly support CDC recommendations that people wear cloth face coverings or masks in public settings when around people outside of their household, especially when social distancing measures are difficult to maintain. When you step up and wear a mask, you’re doing your part to limit the spread.
