Auxiliary Police

The Dubuque Auxiliary Police Unit is a volunteer organization designed to assist the Police Department in the performance of their duties to the citizens of Dubuque. By remaining a highly-trained, flexible, and motivated group, the Auxiliary Police Unit is able to augment the regular police staffing at short notice whenever and wherever the need arises. That assistance is often rendered at parades, community events, crime/crash scenes, benefit runs/walks, and police department tours.

Dubuque Auxiliary Police Receives DRA Grant

Lt. Bruce Deutsch, the Dubuque Police commander in charge of the Auxiliary Police, would like to thank the Dubuque Racing Association for the $3250 grant recently issued to the organization. The grant will be used to replace short sleeve uniform shirts. Members of the Auxiliary Police, an entirely volunteer organization, donate significant amounts of time each year as they assist the Dubuque Police on major calls and special events. Their willingness to volunteer results in reduced overtime cost to the Police Department and the City and an increase in the availability of sworn DPD Officers. The ongoing support from the DRA helps make this all possible - thanks again DRA!
