Funding Recognition

Arts Operating Recovery and Creative Empowerment subgrants are funded by the National Endowment for the Arts via an American Rescue Plan Grant to Local Arts Agencies for Subgranting. Acknowledgment of the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) AND the City of Dubuque must be prominently displayed in all materials and announcements for funded arts operations or individual creatives' projects. Materials(printed or electronic) associated with the funded activities include but are not limited to programs, press releases, social media posts, promotions, etc. 

Evidence of acknowledgment will be required as an addendum to the organization’s final grant report.

See below for guidelines SPECIFIC to the NEA-ARPA-funded programs.

Please use the NEA name and logo and the City of Dubuque name and logo in relation to the NEA-ARPA supported arts operations and creatives projects but do not advertise the NEA or the City as a general donor or suggest that the support has extended beyond the close of the funded activity. The NEA and City should not be included in lists of donors that are not specific to the supported arts operations or projects or appear in materials beyond the period of performance dates. 

To acknowledge Arts Operating Recovery subgrant support:

Such acknowledgment should noticeably indicate that funds were provided for arts operating support and should not be used to show support for a project or activity outside the scope of funding.

CREDIT LINE - For print and online project materials, a basic requirement is a phrase acknowledging support from the NEA and City of Dubuque using the following language: “[Organization's name] arts operations are supported in part by the National Endowment for the Arts and the City of Dubuque.”

It is encouraged to include "To find out more about how National Endowment for the Arts American Rescue Plan Act Grants to Local Arts Agencies for Subgranting impact individuals and communities, visit www.arts.gov." 

In addition, it is highly advised to use the National Endowment for the Arts and City of Dubuque's current logo whenever possible to accurately indicate that your organization is currently receiving support from the NEA and the City of Dubuque. As logos change over the years, please check the links above to make sure you are using the correct logos. 

You may also use social media to indicate support for your organization's arts operations, such as "[Organization's name] is supported in part by the National Endowment for the Arts and the City of Dubuque." Visit the NEA's Acknowledgment page and City of Dubuque's Arts and Culture Funding Recognition page for recommended social media tags. 

It is also acceptable to include both names in a list among other supporters. 

When written or logo credit is not applicable, oral credit should be given, recognizing the National Endowment for the Arts and the City of Dubuque's support.
