Auxiliary Police

The Dubuque Auxiliary Police Unit is a volunteer organization designed to assist the Police Department in the performance of their duties to the citizens of Dubuque. By remaining a highly-trained, flexible, and motivated group, the Auxiliary Police Unit is able to augment the regular police staffing at short notice whenever and wherever the need arises. That assistance is often rendered at parades, community events, crime/crash scenes, benefit runs/walks, & police department tours.

Lt. Marty Steil and the members of the Dubuque Auxiliary Police would like to thank the Dubuque Racing Association (DRA) for the recently awarded grant in the amount of $5,807.  The grant will be used to replace outdated flashlights, traffic safety vests, and other equipment used by the officers of this entirely volunteer organization. The support provided by the DRA enables these volunteers to continue providing assistance to the Dubuque Police Department and community, resulting in a significant cost savings to tax payers. Thanks again DRA!
