Council Member Brett Shaw

Overview


Brett Shaw, of 995 Richards Rd., was elected to the Dubuque City Council in November 2017 to represent the city's First Ward.

Background


A native of Clinton, Iowa, he has lived in Dubuque County for eight years and the city for four years.  Brett and his wife, Jen, are parents to three children.  He has been employed for six years at John Deere Dubuque Works where he works as an information technology portfolio and program manager. His previous experience includes work as a commodity specialist for Rockwell Collins and buyer/planner for Boston Scientific. 

Civic Involvement


Brett has served on the City of Dubuque Housing Commission and the City of Dubuque Housing Trust Fund Advisory Committee.  Additional community involvement includes participating in the Dubuque Days of Caring, serving as a mentor at Sageville Elementary School, and coaching Special Olympics in Cedar Rapids and Clinton.
