Community members often ask us what they can do to become a part of the solution to complex social issues facing the community.
Becoming a member of our very own Human Rights Commission is one way to become directly involved with our Department. You also could choose to volunteer with one of our partners working to make an impact on a significant social issue facing the community. There are local efforts in alignment with the national My Brother's Keeper Campaign. Perhaps you would like to join or start a neighborhood association, become a block leader through Neighbor to Neighbor (N2N), or become an AmeriCorps Member. If you would prefer to move forward with your own ideas, check out these opportunities to apply for Arts & Culture grants or Sustainability grants.
Volunteer to make an impact in our community. Along the way, you will:
- Build strong social networks
- Make new friends
- Share your knowledge and skills
- Enhance your employment options
- Improve your life and others
